Steps to Become a Notary in Idaho
Step 1- Order a four-year, $5,000 Idaho notary bond
You can order the notary bond before starting the notary application. You will be asked to enter the bond number, bonding company name, and the effective and expiration dates of the bond while completing the notary application on the Secretary of State’s website. Step 2- Complete an Idaho notary application
All notary applicants are required to complete a notary application on the Secretary of State's website. Even though the application is completed online, you are required to print it and mail it to the state along with the processing fee. Click here to start an Idaho notary application.
Step 3- Mail the notary forms and processing fee to the State
Mail the original, signed notary application, the notary bond, notarized oath of office, and a $43 processing fee to the Secretary of State's office. It takes around four to six weeks for the State to approve the application.
Step 4- Order Idaho notary supplies
